What material are your shoes?

I am vegeterian but I do wear leather shoes. Pleather looks cheap and more importantly I loathe synthetics. I just can't find a good alternative. I don't wear a lot of different styles of shoes. I only need 1 pair of dress boots and 1 pair of dress heels. I don't have any problems finding casual shoes that are canvas but dress shoes are a big problem. What are my alternatives? I am desparate for some animal friendly choices that look nice as I really have to look upscale for work.

What material are your shoes?
Your question got me curious, so I did a search for "vegan friendly shoes". Here are some of the results(please understand that I'm not vegan, so I don't know how great these sites actually are, they are just what came up from my search):

http://www.mooshoes.com/

http://www.veganshoes.us/

http://www.vegan-shoes.com/

http://www.veganessentials.com/

http://www.planetshoes.com/Shop/Control/...

http://www.veganstep.com/

Hope these help:)
Reply:i wear leather of course, nothing but the best...
Reply:Pleather or PVC is pretty harmful to the environment. Try converse sneakers :)
Reply:I think it is great that you are worried about what your clothes/shoes are made of! I would ignore those who responded with the fact that your question has nothing to do with the category, because it does! People who eat with awareness, dress with awareness, and live with awareness! I don't wear any dress clothes any more, I'm retired! But I still try to be conscious of what I wear and do! Oh yeah, don't buy Converse if you can help it, Nike owns it! Nike sucks!
Reply:I'm newly veg again, so my shoes are made of leather.

You can try Mooshoes.com, it sells dress shoes that look pretty and smart.
Reply:What you wear for shoes has nothing to do with the category Food and Drink.
Reply:My shoes are made from a leather upper %26amp; a man-made sole! I am a vegetarian, however, I need the support %26amp; comfort of leather %26amp; the durability of the rubber %26amp; plastics used in the soles to walk around in our cement jungle! I hate pleather %26amp; it would be nice if someone came up with a cotton or fabric alternative that was durable %26amp; comfortable %26amp; reasonably priced. Until this happens...I'm stickin' with my Birkenstocks %26amp; Sketchers! I once had a pair of Hemp sandals, but they just didn't have the durability to hold up on the sidewalks of the City!
Reply:I do wear synthetic shoes and they don't always look cheap. I've got some that cost nearly $90 and sold from Nordstrom. I prefer environmentally friendly ones like hemp, but I can't always get away with that so I use shoe trees to keep my shoes looking new and I can buy less that way.

As a vegan I would never wear leather shoes.
Reply:My brother bought a pair of all-vegetable boots one time.

They looked pretty good, too. True story.
Reply:Mine are made of hemp! Another good company is "no sweat" It's non sweat shop and vegan... so you're helping people and animals
Reply:I'm poor, so I wear what I can get. Usually it's cheap non-leather shoes that don't last very long, but recently found a shoe sale and got some really nice leather ones. Manufacturers basically refuse to make non-leather shoes, and hey, if cow scraps are cheap, why not? There are also some pretty cool hemp shoes out there too if you want the burlap look. But if I did have the money, I'd buy shoes from here:

www.veganwares.com

I did LOTS of looking around and found that these shoes were top quality vegan shoes that were also COOL looking etc. that they make themselves. And the Australian Dollar is so much more attractive than that bloody British Pound. They'll even do custom shoes for a price. That's cool! They've been around for at least 10 years (yes, I've been poor that long... much longer in fact).
