Can I soften shoe leather?

So I bought these great, stiff leather shoes. They fit great, but whenever I walk in them, the crease on the toes folds down right on my toes sharply enough to cut them. Is there any way I can get that material soft enough to bend as I walk, instead of folding sharply down like a knife?
