I%26#039;m thinking about getting laminate floors installed. I went for an estimate and on the list of materials I will need it lists both shoe molding and four in one molding. What’s the difference and do I need both?
Why would i need both shoe molding and four in one molding?(laminate floors)?
I dont know what your particular layout is, but I can tell you what the components are, and you determine if you need them.
Shoe moulding - trim approx 7/16%26quot; W x 3/4%26quot; H, with curved profile. Used against base trim when laminate is installed up to the base (shoe covers the required gap)
4 in 1 is a manufactured %26#039;cap%26#039; or trim used to %26quot;transition%26quot; from your laminate to surrounding surfaces (carpet, vinyl, ceramic, etc.) usually through doorways or openings to adjoining rooms.
