What paint and other materials does an artist use to handpaint a vans slip-on shoe?

I am planning to handpaint my shoe but i don%26#039;t know what specific type of paint to use. Are there techniques in painting the shoe?

you need to buy fabric paints.. you can get them at Jo Ann fabrics or places like HobbyLobby. :)
Reply:yep fabric paints- hobby lobby is cheaper than joanns. Also use a firm brush (stiff bristles) that way you can have crisper lines with more saturated color - have fun
Reply:i have painted several pairs or shoes including slip-on vans... i used acrylic and it seemed to work out nice but if you want to paint a flimsy shoe like a pair of chucks, use fabric paint.
Reply:Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels have fabric paints, they are pretty cheap.
