How do you get sticky residue from tape off the top of a shoe?

I had a yard sale and put masking tape on the top of the shoe to mark the price. Well the yard sale is over and when I went to take the tape off it left a sticky residue and I do not know what to take it off with. I have tried alcohol and I tried magic eraser. I have all different kinds of shoes with different types of material and I do not want to rub off the color on the tip of some of the shoes.

Try some WD-40 Spray...
Reply:I%26#039;ve used a product called Goo-Gone it removes all kinds of substances and is safe for leather. Be sure to check the bottle for instructions for removal on different surfaces..It also removes gum, lipstick, grease and various other hard to remove stains...You can find it at Wal-Mart and Home Depot....Good Luck!
Reply:Use rubbing alcohol.
