What's in a name?

Why do designer shoes have to cost so much. You know they use the same material as other shoe makers. Do you think that if the world boycotted their shoes and bought knockoff brands that eventully their names would mean nothing?

What's in a name?
I do think that in certain instances higher priced shoes can be worth more simply because the quality is better, but most of the time when prices are higher simply for the name, then that's a load of bullsh*t there.
Reply:Alot of the time they are not using the same materials ,they us more of unusual colors textures, more creative on shapes and styles, have more detail in the seams, may have real jewel or you could be nike and have children make them and they are worth more because we represent good day all
Reply:if your rich your going to buy the designer stuff, actually most of the material is alot better quality then the knock offs. thats why there knock offs, because they copies made out of cheaper material or else they would sell it for a higher price. but there will always be rich people and celebrities who buy from them, you cant avoid it.
Reply:people buy "brand" names because they think it is a better quality than the "generic" shoes plus snobs think it is unfashionable to buy the knock offs
Reply:No, probably not. There are way too much people in this world who die for high end brand names. And all the celebrities and rich and mighty people would still buy from them, so they will remain thriving.
