Suede, Leather...?

I've been vegetarian now for about 6 months and im ready to become committed to being vegan, but most of the shoes i have are leather, or suede, and i understand veganism is taking out anything deprived from an animal out of my life, but it will be hard to give my shoes up! I know this sounds selfish but Im really just asking what other type of material for shoes i can begin to start wearing.

Suede, Leather...?
sounds like you'd rather keep your fashion and don't wanna really care for the animals/ dead animal skin, etc.

if you truly want to become a vegan then sell your shoes or give them to charity.

suede, leather, fur, silk and wool all come from animals, that's what NOT to wear.
Reply:Well, as long as it doesn't say leather or suede, you can pretty much wear any man made material. I go with canvas usually. But, don't throw out your shoes yet. Wear them out. The only thing worse than buying leather shoes is buying them and then throwing them away, and not even using what the animal gave you.
Reply:Just look for the term "all man made materials" on the shoes. Probably half the shoes I see for sale say this, even in places like Walmart, etc. You can get shoes that look exactly the same as their leather counterparts, but that have no animal products. I have tennis shoes, strappy sandals, thongs, boots, etc. that all look like leather, but they all say "all man made" right on the shoe.
Reply:Listen, you got your shoes before you became vegetarian...would it not be a waste to just toss them? Wear them until you need new shoes. Another idea is to donate them.
Reply:Canvas, faux leather, hemp

you have all kinds of options, find out what kind of shoes Natalie Portman wears, she is vegan, she always has some kind of shoes that look like Easy spirit shoes but are not but are vegan shoes
Reply:Canvas, wood, foamy sandals, faux leather, and faux suede. You've been a vegitarian for six months, and now you want to be a vegan? I've been a vegitarian for six years, and I'm never going to be a vegan, sorry. I don't wear leather/suede, though. Although, I do have a leather couch, but my parents picked it out...
