I'm looking for leather material, prefer in the USA. an option of different colors would be good. All I can find on the net is clothes and shoes. I just want material. thanks.
Where can I find a leather retailer that sells just the material and doesn't costs too much?
A small suggestion before purchasing. Do a small amount of research on "working with leather" before beginning with a project. I do apologize if you know how to. In the long run it may save you costly errors as leather is not inexpensive.
At least 1 link is not in the US and that is Buckskin. They ask for payment not in Canadian dollars but the equivilancy.

How do you make permanent marker on canvas shoes PERMANENT??
I drew designs and pictures on my white Vans slip-ons with a Sharpie permanent marker. I'm concerned that they might smudge or get blurry/won't be able to see the original design if they get wet. Is there something you can do to these shoes/apply to the material to make sure that the designs and drawings are permanent?
How do you make permanent marker on canvas shoes PERMANENT??
If the shoes are canvas the marker shouldn't come off...you could test a small area that isn't so noticeable with a small drop of water on part of a line..if it looks like it might smudge take a hair dryer to it than redraw your line a little thicker....what ever you do ...DO NOT SPRAY THEM WITH HAIRSPRAY...hairspray will remove permanent marker off clothing...(used this many times).....
you could also spray your shoes with a workable fixative ..it is used to preserve pencil, pastel, charcoal drawings...you can find the fixative anywhere that sells art supplies and its inexpensive...
I hope I helped...best of luck with your shoes.......
Reply:theirs a marker you can buy for fabrics try joann fabrics
Reply:As far as I know.... A permanent marker is just that. Permanent!
Reply:The ink may fade, but it won't totally disappear.
Reply:You can buy Hodge Podge at your local discount retailer Wal----, it will seal in the marker. Let dry for 24 hrs. (cost less than $5)

Polyester and Synthetic Leather?
I have a pair of running shoes that contains those materials. Can I wash them in the washing machine or do I have to wash them in a special way?
Polyester and Synthetic Leather?
I would say you could machine wash them. I've done that with sythetic running shoes before, and it's worked fine. They get a little bent out of shape, but if you wear them, they'll go back into shape.
Reply:I wash my NB running shoes, 800 series, with mesh and they do fine. I dry on delicate or leave them out in the sun. No problem at all.
Reply:I would wash them in a delicates bag on a light cycle and either let them air dry or dry them on delicate cycle. That's how I wash most of my shoes and they've all done just fine. Hope this helps you out.

Where do people get those slipper shoes???? =D?
The shoes have like.. Soft material inside.. and the rim of where the opening is, has like.... White fur! Then the bottom is just like a regular shoes that you can go places in and stuff! I can't buy anything online right now... so maybe some stores that i could look in would be good! Thank you so much!
Where do people get those slipper shoes???? =D?
Like these? These are about 100-200 bucks.

Or you can optionally go to AE and get these for only 60 bucks.

Who is Goodwill really good for?
This isent really a question, more like a statement. I would like to say that Goodwill should officially be renamed badwill and people need to know why. I have been an employee for a goodwill for almost 6 months. I have seen some extremely scandalist activities since i have started. One example is many people are under the impression that when clothes and goods are donated that are not in perfect shape but are still useable are sent to third world contries and used for those in need, WHICH IS NOT TRUE! the salvage materials are sent to a center where they are burned, as well as shoes and books, baby materials, computer equipment, and other "unuseable" products are burned or melted down. 85% of the donations received will never be sold to customers and if they are they are overpriced so managment can make a bonus. Make sure that you check everything becuase if you donate on accident you will never see it again. i have tons of horror stories if anyone wants to know! DONT DONATE TO GOODWI

Leather shoes a little tight?
i bought a pair of flat steve madden shoes on ebay.. the material is leather.. my problem is its a bit tight.. although its my size but there is no allowance. i really like the shoes.. can someone please tell me how to make it like stretch just a little bit or make the leather soft so it will stretch a little. PLease help.
Leather shoes a little tight?
leather shoes will expand as you wear them. i have a friend who purposely buy leather shoes of a half size smaller because he said if he bought the normal sizes as his sneakers, just a few weeks later it would have expanded so much that just a small kick of his leg would send his entire shoe flying out. if you really cannot live with the tightness for just a short period of time, you can use an expander on it. i have no idea where to get them, but i know all shoe shops have them. it's something you put it inside your shoes and turn a knob so that the wooden mold will expand, expanding your shoes as well.
Reply:Yep, leather will strech out. I always buy my heels a little tight, since I know they will strech a little bit.
Reply:i had the same problem with my flats.
trust me wearing them hurts like heck at first. since its leather it will stretch. i wore mine about 3 times and then the became verrrrry comfy. i love them now %26lt;3
you will wear them and be like "omg what is she talking about they will never stretch"
trust me, leather DOES stretch after wearing it a few times.
good luck!

Cleaning gucci shoes?
hi i have a pair of Gucci shoes, they are the material of the bags, no dry cleaners clean shoes, so i was thinking of a D.I.Y. does anyone know what and how to clean them?
Cleaning gucci shoes?
When you say "material of the bags", I take it you mean a canvas fabric?
If so, use a small amount of Woolite® and some warm water, Apply it with a soft cloth. If you have heavy staining, mix 1/2 a cup of Oxy Clean® to a cup of hot water and let it disolve. Use a terry cloth to apply the solution to the stain and let sit for 10 minutes, wipe down the shoes with warm water to remove any of the solution left behind.
Stuff the shoes with paper (Not newspaper!!!) and set in the sun to air dry. If you need them to dry faster, set your oven on warm and place your shoes inside with the oven open. Check them from time to time.
Reply:Gucci shoes on sale in US only $99 http://uspshoes.com Report It
Reply:All Gucci stores offer a cleaning service to their costumers .
Do not touch the shoes with any product because then they might refuse to accept them

Why would footprints made on the moon last 4hundreds of years?
there is no weathering on th moon
there is no wind or water to erode the footprints
the footprints on the moon are very deep because of the apollo atrounots shoes
or the apollo astronauts on the moon made shoe deposits with space age materials
Why would footprints made on the moon last 4hundreds of years?
The Answer is that:
There is no wind or water to erode the footprints.
There is however weathering on the moon from micrometeorite impacts (similar to very slow sandblasting) so the footprints will eventually disappear. Hope that helps.
Reply:the reason that there is no footprints on the moon is because there is really no weathering.
Reply:The first two are pretty much the same...and those are the reasons. There's no weather and no possible erosion.
Reply:Looks like you have a multiple choice homework question.
It is B "there is no wind or water to erode the footprints".
Interesting note, the 6 Flags the U.S. planted on the Moon are no longer there, or if they are they are bleached white by now. You know how the sun bleaches out fabrics you leave outside here on Earth? Well it's worse on the Moon, 'cuse theres no atmosphere there and more Solar Radiation gets through. So if they have been left outside in the sun since 1969 (or 1972 for the last flights) they would be pretty bleached out by now.
So since thats a form of weathering (I guess) I'd go with B, there is no air and water to disturb them.
Reply:I hope you don't mind my opinion on this. Did it occur to you that probably it hasn't been struck yet by meteorites or other heavenly bodies? The moon is constantly bombarded by these things in space, are you sure the footprints are still there? Just a thought......
Reply:You answered your own question. #2 no wind is the main reason. Also no athmosphere.
Reply:just as you said, there is no atmosphere and thus no wind or rain to make them go away
Reply:Right, There is no upper atmosphere where there is a lower weather system forces at work..The moon is more surrounded by the vacuum of space.( A planets inner structure design determines its upper atmosphere layers and layer pressures )
Reply:about the only thing that will erode the foot prints will be the heat and cold flux and dust from outter space.
Reply:all the above but mostly no wind
Reply:1 and 2, which are actually the same thing near enough.

Method for coefficient of kinetic friction?
I have to find the coefficient of knietic friction between a shoe and a wooden board. I have managed to get the static friction by placing the shoe on the board and raising it until the shoe starts moving. The only materials I can use is the wooden board, shoes and a metre stick. I have tried one way, but my teacher says it isn't accurate enough, and I haven't been able to devise an experiment that would help me find the coefficient of kinetic friction. If anyone has some tips or ideas on how to do this, I would be very grateful for their help.
Method for coefficient of kinetic friction?
If possible, repeat the following until you find the correct angle.
Raise the board to some angle less than the static friction angle, and give the shoe a starting nudge. You have the correct angle when the shoe continues to move at a constant rate, which you apparently are expected to judge by eye. In the real world, surface irregularities will probably make this even more difficult. Lotsa luck.

This is a question for nice girls...?
I like girls feet very much. I admire pretty girls with pretty feet.
But I have a problem.
I like the smell of feet very much, what most people call stink.
I am sorry but i like it and i am not offending anybody.
So, how can i convince my girlfriend to let her feet smell. She hates this situation. Any ideas?
Which shoes to wear?
Material?
Brand?
How to preserve the smell?
Thank you for your atention.
This is a question for nice girls...?
Nice girls keep their feet clean and aren't going to be able to help you.
Reply:nice girls does not stink, so how are you asking nice girls to answer this. ??? i dont know how can you have a girlfriend being that way, i will dump my boyfriend if he likes stink feet. because that's just nasty.
Reply:Just tell her to wear covered shoes and keep the same socks on for days. You should get the smell you're looking for. If she really objects to it, just make your OWN socks really stinky and tell her to put them on. If she still says no, looks like you either have to abandon the cause or find a girl who likes smelly feet like you do. Good Luck

Are these target shoes worth buying?
so i saw these pretty cute shoes on target.com and since they're cheap, i was wondering if i should get them. r target shoes made out of quality material and r these better than vans or any of the other mainstream shoe companies?
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref...
Are these target shoes worth buying?
I may have to hit up target on those. They are cute. They probally aren't a better material then VANS but hey even if they were half the price it would be worth it because that would mean you could have two pairs of them for the life of one pair of vans.
Reply:you should get them if thats what you like
but personally i would get the real thing
Reply:I have these shoes and they are great! they are very comfy and were a great price. They were pretty durable but i had to get a new pair cause they ripped. They have a decent quality to them. Not all shoes r of great quality there , but this pair is one of the best!
Reply:You DO realize these are size 11, right? But they look OK, and if that's what you like, then the heck with everybody else. Know what I mean? Be yourself, not who someone else wants you to be.
Reply:target shoes are pretty good quality

They are hideous, sorry.
Reply:Ewe no, those are ugly.
Cheap isn't always better.
Get a good, cute, long-lasting pair that's worth it
Sorry, hun
Reply:No, Target shoes are not better than Etnies, Vans, etc.
I would recommend you getting classic Vans, instead of these.
ALTHOUGH, if you really like these and don't want anything else, go for what you want. When they rip and tear, oh well, then get new shoes. Your taste is what you should follow.
Reply:I always buy shoes from Target and Payless. They both seem to last a while and are very comfortable. I still have a pair of boots from 2005. Spending a ridiculous amout of money on shoes is so unneccassary. And Target has a really great selection.

Non-leather shoes in sydney?
Okay, so i'm vegetarian and don't wear leather.....this makes shopping for shoes extra hard....considering I have large feet too!
Anyway, i'm after some shops IN SYDNEY which stock
non-leather shoes (preferably cute shoes...not just basic daggy ones). No online shops please....somewhere I can actually try things on : )
Also, I have already shopped at "Kagui" or "Kajui" I can't remember their name......while their non-leather shoes are gorgeous....the material/glues they use smell awful and the shoes fall apart too easily.
Thanks in advance!

You can buy cheap (they're only cheap in relation to leather shoes) shoes made of plastic from all the major department stores in Sydney. There's Myers, Grace Bros, K-Mart, David Jones, plus all the various little shoe stores that litter the city and suburbs.

What can I wear to school if it snows?
Okay, I bus to school with my friend everyday and today it started snowing a little bit. We don't get a lot of snow here which is good but it's still cold. The cold goes through your coat into your bones...i hate it!
What can I wear to school that can still be fashionable and will keep me warm?
I have dark brown boots that goes up to the middle of my calves it's sort of short. it looks kinda weird with jeans tucked in but I still do it, does short boots look okay when jeans are tucked into it?
I have regular tennis shoes and the material is sort of waterproof, can i wear that? I have 2 coats with the fluffy hood, 1 vest jacket and a lot of longsleeve shirts and hoodies. Other than that, i just have jeans and gray sweatpants. etcetc.
What can I wear to school if it snows?
I personally think this is a great outfit for winter...

Reply:Black pointy toe stilettos. But not the ones with the long toes, just pointy.
Reply:it depends on how long the skirt is. If it is short I would go with a black heel that straps tie up the legs... that is always sexy, and will definatly draw draw to you. If it is a longer skirt just wear a black heel... it is usually hard to find shoes that will match the green or whatever color you are wearing if you do get lucky buy those, if not just the tall black heel but not too tall that you look like a jackass walking in them.
Reply:Orange or hot pink...you don't want to be too conservative!
Reply:Black strappy sandals with a reasonable heel would look very nice.

Reply:black strappy ones or a green that matched ur top perfectly..cant go wrong

Why do we always ask for presents for our birthdays?
Why can't we (who might have already got a lot of things %26amp; presents) ask more often for money to donate to poorer people e.g. homeless children or orphans in Kiew or other places. Look around to find a trustable orginasation in your area. You can perhaps find one that will collect shoeboxes you can fill yourself with toy pets, toys, sweets, new clothes, scarf, gloves, hat, shoes, creative%26amp;artistic material, material for school, pencils, hygenic things, jewelery, a cushion - things bought from the "birthday-money" of your friends. You can add actually anything you can think of that a child might like (A CHILD THAT MIGHT HAVE NEVER EVER GOT A PRESENT BEFORE IN HIS OR HER LIFE!?!?) and that fits with other little things in a shoebox. So you %26amp; your friends can be happy to have made one or more children happy that other people think of them when they're so lonesome....Think about it-it's a wonderful feeling%26amp;worth the effort! And have fun packing these shoeboxes, you can easily get addicted.
Why do we always ask for presents for our birthdays?
A couple of generations ago, people did NOT ask for Birthday presents, they would get a gift, if they were lucky, and it was a surprise, something simple, a handkerchief or some sweets.
These days it seems there is no shame, our kids look on it as a shopping day, and give a LIST of stuff they WANT, not just might like.
But yes I hear what you are saying, it would be a nice world if we could all take your attitude that's for sure. Lets all give a bit of thought.

I cannot believe how lax our government is with our meds and food supplies. One of these f#ck ups is going to end up killing millions before it is over with. The government has sold the US out, we have been outsourced into having to import substandard foods and meds due to the fact we owe a certain country too much money to really crack down on what we get.
Sad, people are less important than the political maneuvers and the collateral damage they cause.

Being Chinese and having family in China, this doesn't surprise me. It's not just toothpaste and pet food. THere's fake medication, soap products with high levels of bacteria etc.
The US government has never banned importing products from China but they've given warnings. They have warned that the only things being imported from China should be clothes, jewelry, purses, sunglasses etc. At least with those no one is going to get hurt.

How do I remove a red juice stain from white canvas sneakers?
Use some hair spray on the stain for a few hours ,then wash the area with soap and hot water.

Reply:I use carpet aerosol shampoo with stain removers

Reply:Try Sugar Paste with your carpet being so light this should work the best for you: Sugar Paste, made of sugar and water, and allowed to sit for one hour, will usually remove anything!!
If sugar paste doesn't work try: One cup of Tide with two cups of White Vinegar. Scrub the stain with this solution, rinse with cold water, blot and air dry.
Good luck!
Reply:Pour neat bleach on stain, run under cold water immediately you see the stain has gone.Be a devil, try it, it'll work.!

Do you know any shock absorbing material on which if a egg falls from 12m height it will not break?
such shock absorbing material is used by shoe manufacturing companies to apply it on soles of shoe.....
Do you know any shock absorbing material on which if a egg falls from 12m height it will not break?
Open cell polyurethane foam works nicely, i used to work for a company that made high jump and pole vault landing pits, and the company owners grandson did a very sinilar experiment for a science class. We dropped the egg from 10' up to 90' off of a silo, and didn't break a single egg. The secret is to layer the foam, putting the softest (more forgiving) foam on top, in 4" thick layers, and using progressively denser foam as the layers go down. This properly decelerates the egg, and or the pole vaulter as thry/it is driven into the landing surface. We used a standard collegiate pole vault landing pit that was 32" deep for this experiment.
Reply:well: sure the packing "Sterafoam is the best item for easy
useage with storage ! while traveling safe where during
inpact that egg wont break at all"

Reply:The bubble packaging used in boxes and an excessive amount of cotton.
Reply:At my high school we used to have a competition of who could build the best basket for an egg to be dropped in, and we were only allowed to use straws. I've seen it work, and think that it because of the flexability of the plastic straws and the air space in the middle. Also the round shape allows the straws to flatten and absorb the shock of the fall.
Reply:Water. Lot's of water. If space is an issue, use a water tube.

Nike dunks?
Do nike dunk sb's really deserve all of the hype that they get? I mean, if you took off the swoosh from the side of the shoe, it would just become a really average skate shoe, made with below average materials. Compared to other shoes they skate like crap. Also, the cheapest ones you can find are usually 70 bucks and up. Whats the deal with their popularity. It seems like Nike has us under some kind of spell.

What's in a name?
Why do designer shoes have to cost so much. You know they use the same material as other shoe makers. Do you think that if the world boycotted their shoes and bought knockoff brands that eventully their names would mean nothing?
What's in a name?
I do think that in certain instances higher priced shoes can be worth more simply because the quality is better, but most of the time when prices are higher simply for the name, then that's a load of bullsh*t there.
Reply:Alot of the time they are not using the same materials ,they us more of unusual colors textures, more creative on shapes and styles, have more detail in the seams, may have real jewel or you could be nike and have children make them and they are worth more because we represent good day all
Reply:if your rich your going to buy the designer stuff, actually most of the material is alot better quality then the knock offs. thats why there knock offs, because they copies made out of cheaper material or else they would sell it for a higher price. but there will always be rich people and celebrities who buy from them, you cant avoid it.
Reply:people buy "brand" names because they think it is a better quality than the "generic" shoes plus snobs think it is unfashionable to buy the knock offs
Reply:No, probably not. There are way too much people in this world who die for high end brand names. And all the celebrities and rich and mighty people would still buy from them, so they will remain thriving.

Why my new shoes always hurt?
Hi guys,
Just wanna ask if anybody have the same experience with me. I love to have many type of shoes but whenever i buy the new one and i wore them is always hurt my feet. I checked all the material of the shoes before i bought it and they are a good quality, soft and good brand also. I don't understand ! since everytime i wore it i got blister on my feet and it's really bad so is end up i don't want to wear them anymore. Some people said its normal thing since your feet is need to adjust to the new shoes but strange for me since i wore them twice or third times and same result. Do you guys think the problem is on my feet since my feet are skinny and not much meat on it ;)
Is anybody can help me to deal with it?
Why my new shoes always hurt?
New shoes hurting is not strange. Just like you said, your shoes need to stretch and conform to your feet. Perhaps you need to ask the salesperson for a foot measurer to make sure you are not buying the wrong size. New shoes should not be worn the first time for the long hours at school, work, or a party. Most women buy shoes the day of an event, or to take to vacation. This is a mistake. You should wear your new shoes over a period of several days, but only around the house and a couple of hours at a time. You can also 'stretch' your shoes by placing tissue paper on the toes and the back and placing a stick between them. I always keep my shoes with sticks on them.
Reply:Your feet need to adjust to the shoe, you have to wear them in slightly and they will probably feel tight around the back but that goes once you've worn them a couple of times, you just have to grin and bear it and put plaster on those blisters :)
Reply:Yes, sometimes this happens to me as well. Apparently they're not a good fit for your foot. I had to get rid of a lot shoes because they didn't fit properly.
Good shoes shouldn't hurt.

Walking shoes used as running shoes?
I have a pair of Nike Air Impel II waliking shoes, (with WALK on the back) and need to know if they can be used as running shoes because of they're made of the mesh material as runnign shoes?
Walking shoes used as running shoes?
if you're just looking to jog/run for fitness you should be okay. if you're looking to start running marathons I would suggest investing in a really good pair of shoes and be prepared to switch them out frequently.
Reply:What's the difference between a walking shoe and a running shoe?
It used to be you could tell one from the other because the walking shoe was blindingly white, but now you can find walking shoes in many different colors and patterns. Looks aside, walking shoes are substantially different from running shoes, particularly in the midsoles (the cushioning layer underneath the shoe). Since walkers hit the ground with less force than runners, they don't require as much cushioning. A walking shoe's thinner midsole allows for a more natural foot roll from the heel through to the toes; a thick heel wedge can cause the forefoot to slap down, leading to shin soreness or even shin splints. The flexible outsole (the bottom of a shoe) on walking shoes, versus the stiffer ones on running models, also facilitates this roll-through motion.
Reply:Even though the outside of the shoe may look similar to a running shoe, you should not run in a walking shoe. They do not have the internal cushioning and shock absorption that you will need for running. The walking shoe will also not have enough stability and motion control for running.
I worked in management and sales in the sport shoe industry for over ten years. Please do not use the incorrectly cushioned shoes to run in, you will end up hurting yourself and will not be able to walk or run comfortably until your injuries heal.
I was lucky enough to work for a company that spent a great deal of time training their employees, and we were not on commission, so I never had to force anyone to buy any product that would not be correct for them.
I did deal with a lot of customers who used improper footwear which they had purchased elsewhere, and then they had to spend a great deal of time going to the foot doctors because of the problems this caused.
Have a good night, good luck with your running and walking. Enjoy every minute.

Does anyone know how to maintain a shoes made from suede material?
suede is a material came from upside down leather. thx
Does anyone know how to maintain a shoes made from suede material?
Your best bet is to get a suede stain repellent and waterproofing spray. Also get a suede cleaner just in case anything serious gets on your shoes. There are a lot of different sprays out there so look online. Here's a website that shows you exactly how to clean your shoes: http://www.ehow.com/how_3139_clean-suede...
The bottom website has suede cleaner products. Good luck!

Would this be a atrractable nice outfit to wear at a wedding?
a yellow halter dress its silk material. silver shoes bracelate necklace and earrings and handbag, purple eyeshadow and nailpolish. black mascara eyeliner and a nice pinky lipgloss and shimmer
btw im tanned skin and 16years old
Would this be a atrractable nice outfit to wear at a wedding?
sounds like you will look Beautiful, color sounds perfect for a wedding and the silver adds just the right touch.
Reply:The dress and accessories sound really nice, but I would stick to a neutral coloured eyeshadow and nailpolish as it will all start to clash, and just a pale pink lipstick.
Reply:for some reason that outfit sound very colorful, it doesnt sound that good for a wedding maybe you should tone done the colors
Reply:Sounds very pretty, go for it!
Reply:try dressing up simple....and also stick to one colour??...if ur wearing a yellow dress, try wearing yellow earings, braceltez...etc...
Reply:take it from me...i PROMISE. i did this exact thing a few years ago and have regretted it since.
wear BROWN shoes (NO SILVER SHOES PLEASE!), and just paint your nails a clear gloss or if you really want color, try to match it to your lipgloss.
shimmer is ok, as long as you just use a little. like a really really little bit in the inside corners of your eye by the top of your nose or on your chest.
sounds great otherwise!
Reply:maybe the purple is too much...
try silver for eyeshadow/nailpolish.

Does anyone know of any companies (food and others) who give away their products when they have a surplus?
My sorority is trying very hard to collect donations (food, drinks, clothing for all ages, educational material, art, shoes, movies, music, etc) to help those in need. Unfortunately, we have found very few companies willing to simply give away their overstock. So, if anyone knows of any companies that we could contact to get more information regarding donations we would greatly appreciate it. Believe me, any information that you could give us will be useful, so please don't hesitate if you help.
Thanks In Advance

Panera Bread in Denver used to donate their leftover bakery goods to nonprofits each night. Often there was even too much for the NP's to take. I believe it was a company wide practice.
Reply:In NYC we have the CITY HARVEST which collects leftover food from restaurants and grocery stores.

Suede, Leather...?
I've been vegetarian now for about 6 months and im ready to become committed to being vegan, but most of the shoes i have are leather, or suede, and i understand veganism is taking out anything deprived from an animal out of my life, but it will be hard to give my shoes up! I know this sounds selfish but Im really just asking what other type of material for shoes i can begin to start wearing.
Suede, Leather...?
sounds like you'd rather keep your fashion and don't wanna really care for the animals/ dead animal skin, etc.
if you truly want to become a vegan then sell your shoes or give them to charity.
suede, leather, fur, silk and wool all come from animals, that's what NOT to wear.
Reply:Well, as long as it doesn't say leather or suede, you can pretty much wear any man made material. I go with canvas usually. But, don't throw out your shoes yet. Wear them out. The only thing worse than buying leather shoes is buying them and then throwing them away, and not even using what the animal gave you.
Reply:Just look for the term "all man made materials" on the shoes. Probably half the shoes I see for sale say this, even in places like Walmart, etc. You can get shoes that look exactly the same as their leather counterparts, but that have no animal products. I have tennis shoes, strappy sandals, thongs, boots, etc. that all look like leather, but they all say "all man made" right on the shoe.
Reply:Listen, you got your shoes before you became vegetarian...would it not be a waste to just toss them? Wear them until you need new shoes. Another idea is to donate them.

I've been a vegitarian for six years, and I'm never going to be a vegan, sorry. I don't wear leather/suede, though. Although, I do have a leather couch, but my parents picked it out...

How to make neighbour stop banging door or let everybody in the building know that is him who is banging.?
Our apartments are in the same side of the building and we have a common door (iron) for security purposes. When we get home we have to open that door so that we can reach our apartment doors. There is quite a lot of space between the door and our apartment doors.
Recently I have a quarrel with my neighbour for he is using that area for his personal things (a locker, a shoe shelve and other materials). I talked to him explaining that the place is supposed to be a area for both of us and it is not convenient to put personal belongins there and on the other hand it will be dangerous in case of fire.
He argued that those things do not bother me but finally he accepted with bad mood and returned the things inside, but from then on, everytime he goes out or comes back, he purposedly slams the iron door causing a great bang and rush into his apartment. I don't want to talk to him again because this kind of behaviour is not of a normal person and I am not to teach him manners. Please help
How to make neighbour stop banging door or let everybody in the building know that is him who is banging.?
i'd write a formal letter to the owner/manager of the building. If you have to keep records of every time he "bangs" the door. It is time consuming, but at least you won't have to go my your memory alone, and you'll have proof.
Before you complain, make sure he is doing it often as once a week doesn't cut it.
I agree you shouldn't have to teach this man any manners.
GOOD LUCK!
Reply:It sounds like familiarity breeds contempt. Your neighbor is taking their frustration out on you - and letting you know that he wants the upper hand, even if he doesn't or won't have it. Even though you are right about the hazards in blocking a hallway - the neighbor doesn't want to consider others' feelings - but rather is grieving his easy storage place. Until the cool down, and eventually getting over having to find a new location, expect this passive -aggressive display of non-neighborly attitude. Give himm a chance to cool down and wise up. I'd give it three weeks - the time it takes to develop a new habit - before I said something about the intense noise. It is flu season - and migraines come with the virus - consider a splitting headache, please. Have a healthy and happy leap year!
Reply:Talk to the owner/manager of the building.
Reply:Maybe, be in a polite manner and tell him to be kind to his neighbors. Talk to him with someone with u so there's a mediator between the two of you.
Be nice and startup a good friendship with him.
God Bless!
Reply:Seems to me your just looking for drama, I highly doubt those items were a bother, you just wanted to have something to get pissed at him about, only way it would be a fire hazard is if the items were blocking the whole door which there not because you said you can get in and out the door just his stuff is there. I think you need to take the high road and not look for fights to have with this person, or move to a place that FAR away from others.

I have these soccer shoes made out of textile. And I'm not use to the fact that you feel the ball a lot more then the normal material on a lot of soccer shoes. Is it better, or is it bad for your foot. If so, what other pair of shoes should I get?

I once saw this mat, or board, covered in sticky material to keep basketball shoes from getting slippery?
Anyone seen one of these, or know what I'm talking about? I play basketball in a weekend league, and the gym where we play has floors that get rather dusty/slippery. When I was in college, I once saw a basketball gym that had this sort of mat, maybe 16 inches by 30 inches, flat, and the top surface was covered with a sticky substance that would rub off the dust and grit from your shoes and leave them with better tread for the gym floor.
Did I dream this? I'd love to buy one now, but I don't know where to get them, or even what they're called to try to find one on-line. It was pretty low-tech, but it was definitely manufactured for this specific purpose - it might even have been made by a shoe company.
Any help? Thanks!

Reply:I have seen something similar that was made for the construction industry to keep workers from tracking in dust and debris. It was a sticky pad that was to be placed in the doorway and had several sheets that could be peeled off as they became full.
Try a construction supply place.

Long dark brown skirt, suede material. What colour shoes, shirt & jumper should i wear it with?
It is for an interview, so formal. Help plz!
Long dark brown skirt, suede material. What colour shoes, shirt %26amp; jumper should i wear it with?
Why not try white blouse, light green jumper/cardigan and brown shoes. You need to stand out from the crowd, even though it is formal you don't have to wear drab colours. Hold your head high and be confident in your bright new colours. Good luck.
Reply:cream or lighter tan top, brown shoes same with bag cream or brown
Reply:ignore all the those creams and browns!!
go funky and wear a nice deep turquoise or rich green top!! and for shoes- cant go wrong with dark brown suede 'close to the leg' boots. or in the summer- gladiator sandals!
if u dont like to stand out too much wear nice warm gold tops with ur skirt or pale yellows.
hope u enjoy wearing it!!

I feel terrible. What can I do about this ...?
I feel betrayed by my own mother. See, she lied to me for a year and some months about her not having enough money to buy food. So throughout that whole year the only little money ($3,000) that I had been trying to save to myself a car I spent on food for her and my two little sisters. I bought my little sisters clothes, shoes, and school materials. Two days ago while completing an application for a scholarship they asked for the total income of last year. I asked my step dad how much he made last year and he said that he made calculations which totaled to $41,000. The only bills my mother pays are $650 for rent and $200 total in bills. I feel so bad right now. She lied to her whole family. I don’t care having spent my money to feed my two sisters but my own mother always puts her self and money before her own family. She doesn’t even take care of my little sisters. She doesn’t cook, clean, or help them with their homework. She does nothing but watch TV all day.
I feel terrible. What can I do about this ...?
Is there any way the school or a community organization might sponsor a fundraiser for your sister? I'd talk to her teacher and principal about that. They may be willing to help organize something as it sounds like your sister is an outstanding student. I commend you for the care you give your sisters. You are proving to be a good role model to them and giving them the care it sounds like you didn't have as a child. Just because you think you know how much financial obligation your mom has in bills, there may be something she's hiding..... I know of a couple who suddenly went from being fairly well off to the husband finding overdue/unpaid bills, maxed out credit card notices, etc. He never did(or at least we never heard) find out what his wife had been spending on.... Is your step father the father of your sisters? If he's not their biological father, I'm not sure his income could factor into their eligibility for scholarships.... I'm sorry you've been hurt by Mom. I'd let her know that you love your sisters and want the best for them. You will make the sacrifices on THEIR behalf, but you will NOT give her money. Should they need clothes and such, you will buy it yourself(it's ok to go to thrift stores and discount markets btw), but you will absolutely NOT GIVE HER MONEY!!!
Best of luck to you and your sisters....
Reply:i think we are sisters. my mother was also a money grubbing *****.
all you can do is help yourself and make a good life. if you choose to help your sister do not ever expect to be paid back.
personally i told my mother to go to you know where..
she is dead now and i truly don't give a sh!t.
Reply:It sounds like abuse has occurred here.I would talk to CPS for advice. Your sister may still be eligible for the scholarship.Just explain the situation to the teacher and she might be able to help you figure something out as this is an unusual situation.
Reply:Are you sure she isn't putting some money away for retirement? Is she paying off student loans or other credit cards you don't know about? If things were so bad, she could have applied for food stamps.
I had a big problem with my mom, much worse than this, and I confronted her about it. She's stubborn and didn't admit she did anything wrong. She acted like a total jackass. I would confront her about it and if she acts immature about it, that shows you her TRUE character. If that's the case, emancipate yourself and say, "mom, I'm not helping you anymore, you took advantage of me."
Reply:You are a great person, sweetie. It seems like you're trying to make up to your sisters where your mom was supposed to be. I wish I could say the magic words to wake your mom up and see how much she's hurting you and your sisters. I know this is going to seem like really strange advice. But I have on three occassions e-mailed Dr. Phil and all three times they have e-mailed me or called me. I don't know if I just so happened to give them the right topics they were looking for or what, but they called me every time. So, you never know, give it a try. If he takes your story, he'll set your mom straight.

Do you ever check the quality of your shoes?
When you buy sport shoes like nike, adidas, prada etc do you ever bother to check the quality of the shoes and the material it was made with?
Do you ever check the quality of your shoes?
Yes. They are not as good as when adidas and pumas were made in West Germany and France during the '70s and '80s.
Before, when I walk on my adidas superstars, they squeak on the floor which means they have good traction. Now, all you hear is knocking on the floor when you walk on them.
Reply:Buy RedWing shoes, wear them everyday for 10 years and then buy a new pair... the old pair can then become work around the house shoes. Very few good old line American products left ... but RedWing shoes are a keeper. Mine are going on 12 years... everyday use too.

Specially built shoes?
I really need help from someone out there. I have a slight difference in the lengths of my legs and I have to wear shoes with a 1 1/4 inch build up on the bottom shoe. Right foot only and I normally have to by a shoe, then I can take it to a local shoe repairman and hope that he can even do a build up on it. I would really love to be able to buy of running shoes especially from the manufacturer that has the extra material built up on it instead of having to buy a shoe and hope for the best. I have searched the internet and I cannot find any website that can build up a shoe using the same material as the manufacturer, can anyone help me?
Specially built shoes?
You might try the manufacturer direct. The can and do make special shoes for people. Also have you seen a chiropractor? Your pelvis might be out of alignment.
Peace

How to make my own blocks of rubber, and cork???
I am aware of how they are made, but i still want to know exactly what i would need to do, and what i would need to buy to make a block of cork, and a block of rubber at home??
I really am looking for this information because i would like to make my own shoes. Any other materials you may suggest i make shoes out of (besides wood) would also be helpful. (Mostly for heeled shoes, and sneakers). Any information would be nice.
I cannot seem to find blocks of cork or rubber that are the dimensions i would like. Approx. 10in x 4.5in x 5in
I greaty appreciate any help or information you can offer.
Thank You.

What is the hint of girls about wearing shoes sockless?
i am really curious about how girls wear shoes without socks and their feet are not sweatinf or smelling bad. i think it is related with the insole material of th shoe, so what's the most compatible insole type for wearing sockless? girls are all wearing those ballets or sneakers sockless, whats the type of insole of them? i am thinking to buy a fully leather insoled (fully leather, sole, sides and every place inside the shoe is leather) converse, and the outside is leather and fabric mixed. what do you suggest me to do? or i want to buy a nike roubaix which is outside of the shoe is full leather with breathing holes (not completely covered with holes) and the inside, back of the inside was nylon(fake leather) i think and the sole and the other (sides) of the inside was fabric, does fabric smells without socks? (i know canvas smells badlly from converse sockless) if i buy them, i will be wearing them sockless most of the time, so what do you suggest me to do? thanks for your answers?
What is the hint of girls about wearing shoes sockless?
I wear flats all the time and my feet do sweat. I think if you have sweaty feet it's inevitable no matter what type of shoe you wear. I sweat a little but they don't smell bad so I don't really have a problem. I have lots of different materialed flats and they all produce the same result... sweaty feet.
Reply:Sometime the shoes is already comfortable so they don't socks. Or the shoes just may be tight with a socks on so they rather go without.

How should I prevent/treat blisters from shoes?
I recently bought a new pair of running shoes and used them right away. I got a blister on the side of my foot where there is a seam between the sole's padding and the material of the shoe. I need to use to shoes to work out but I need a way to prevent more blisters in the future.
How should I prevent/treat blisters from shoes?
I don't know about prevention. Every time I buy a new pair of shoes I get a blister. Put a nice cushy band-aid on the blister, and leave it alone. Don't pop it, the liquid in there is healing your skin.
Your shoes should conform to the shape of your feet soon. If the blister is really bugging you, don't wear the shoes every day. Every other day should be good enough to stretch them out.
Reply:I walked/ran the 3 Day breast cancer walk. (25 miles each day for 3 days) I used a product called GLIDE. It comes in a deoderant stick and it's a slippery product that makes your skin slip back and forth in your shoe (just put it on the problem areas). ALso a pair a double socks (they come that way) from Smart Socks are great. Again it's that double layer that makes your foot not adhere to the shoe and rip /blister the skin. Good luck!
Reply:Sounds like the shoes really don't fit properly and you shouldn't use them. You can try stretching the shoe where the seam is but don't expect miracles.
Reply:use thicker socks???
=P
Reply:There are several possible solutions. Anti-blister socks, you can buy them at any sportswear shop. Glide, again can be purchased at any sporting goods store, and if that fails, I read once where you can put Vaseline on the outside of you sock where you develop blisters. This helps ease the chafing I guess. Good luck.

Does any one know what the old reebok's with the zipper in the middle are called?
They are similar to Allen Iverson's shoes, but the material that surrounds the shoe is of a stretchy, soft material, sort off like what womens bikinis are made of. They have the big reebok logo on the side of the shoe. I used to own a pair when I was younger, they came out like 5 may 6yrs ago. I tried searching all over, but wasn't able to find them, if any one has a clue, or can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

are you sure its from reebok? because to me it looks like the shoes worn by Gary Payton from Nike...
